Helen has also been involved with the American Heart Association for many years as a volunteer and educator. Helen received her Basic Life Support (CPR) instructor training at the University of California Irvine Medical Center. Helen teaches BLS for the Healthcare Provider to the dental community throughout southern California. As an American Heart Association Training Center director and educator, Helen McCracken specializes in dental office medical emergencies.
She has presented BLS training for the California Dental Association (CDA), the Nevada Dental Hygienists’ Association (NDHA), the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA), the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP), and the American Dental Association (ADA), as well as, the local Orange County Dental Society.
Helen has written several articles for the Journal of Practical Hygiene on heart disease and the automated external defibrillator (AED). As an experienced dental professional, she brings a unique perspective to dental office medical emergencies and practical answers on how to perform CPR in the dental setting.
Helen is involved in dental hygiene leadership having held both local and state level positions. Currently Helen holds the position of Trustee to the California Dental Hygienists’ Association. For many years she has been a member of the Dental Hygienists Examination team for the State of California. |
